Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius, discussing bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments.
According to Türkiye's Directorate of Communications, the leaders reviewed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between Türkiye and Lithuania and exchanged views on key international issues.
President Erdoğan congratulated Prime Minister Sinkevicius on assuming office and expressed confidence that relations between the two countries would continue to deepen in the coming period.
He said expanding bilateral contacts across various fields, particularly in the defense industry, would be mutually beneficial and contribute to closer cooperation.
Erdoğan also reiterated Türkiye's commitment to efforts aimed at achieving a lasting peace in the Russia–Ukraine war through diplomatic means.
During the conversation, the Turkish president wished Lithuania success in its upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union, expressing hope for a productive term. (ILKHA)
