Türkiye has condemned a terrorist attack that took place during Friday prayers near a mosque in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
In a statement issued on Friday, September 18, the Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed condolences to the victims of the attack in the city of Kohat and to the people of Pakistan.
“We condemn the terrorist attack carried out today (18 September) during Friday prayers near a mosque in the city of Kohat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan,” the ministry said.
“We wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in this heinous terrorist attack and convey our condolences to the people of Pakistan,” it added.
The attack occurred as worshippers gathered for Friday prayers, according to the ministry. Further details about the casualties and circumstances surrounding the attack were not provided in the statement.
Türkiye has repeatedly expressed solidarity with Pakistan in the face of terrorism and condemned attacks targeting civilians and places of worship. (ILKHA)
