Türkiye slams Israeli settler violence in West Bank, demands accountability
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye has issued a strong condemnation of escalating violence carried out by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, warning of the serious implications for regional peace and stability.
In an official press release, the Ministry denounced what it described as “terrorist attacks” targeting Palestinian civilians in multiple locations, as well as what it characterized as massacres resulting from ongoing aggression. The statement expressed deep concern over the increasing intensity of such incidents and their humanitarian consequences.
The Ministry also sharply criticized the policies of the government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, asserting that they contribute to the escalation on the ground. According to the statement, these policies encourage illegal settler violence, aim to intimidate the Palestinian population, and undermine efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region.
Reaffirming its longstanding position, Türkiye called on the international community to take decisive action to address what it described as ongoing violations in Palestinian territories. The Ministry stressed the importance of ensuring that such acts do not go unpunished and urged that those responsible be held accountable under international law.
The statement reflects Ankara’s continued vocal stance on developments in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, particularly regarding the protection of Palestinian civilians and the pursuit of justice through international mechanisms. (ILKHA)
