At least 16 people were killed when an explosion happened at a gunpowder factory in Russia’s western Ryazan region on Friday, the Emergency Situations Ministry said.
One person was transferred to hospital with serious injuries, local officials said.
170 emergency workers and 50 vehicles were involved in dealing with the fire at the factory that manufactures industrial explosives for civilian use, as well as ammunition for the defense industry and gas generators for submarines. (ILKHA)
