Casualties reported after bomb blast hits mosque in Afghanistan’s southern Kandahar province
An explosion occurred near Imam Bargah mosque in Kandahar city of Southern Afghanistan, causing heavy casualties, a spokesman of the Afghan government’s interior ministry said.
The explosion took place at the mosque belonging to the Shia community during Friday prayers, local sources said.
According to initial reports, at least 13 people were killed and over 17 others were injured in the blast.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
