China successfully launches new satellite from Sichuan launch center
China achieved another milestone in its space program on Saturday, launching the Zhongxing-10R satellite into orbit from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwestern Sichuan province.
The satellite was deployed at 8:11 p.m. Beijing Time, carried aloft by a Long March-3B carrier rocket. According to the China National Space Administration, the mission was a complete success, with Zhongxing-10R entering its predetermined orbit as planned. The satellite is expected to enhance China’s telecommunications and broadcasting capabilities.
This launch marks the 560th mission for the Long March rocket series, underscoring China’s growing prowess and reliability in space technology. The Xichang Satellite Launch Center, known for its strategic location and history of successful launches, continues to play a pivotal role in the nation’s ambitious space exploration agenda.
Officials have not disclosed additional details about the satellite’s specific functions or operational timeline, but the launch is seen as a significant step in bolstering China’s space infrastructure. Further updates are expected as the satellite becomes fully operational. (ILKHA)
