Erdoğan, Tokayev highlight expanding Türkiye-Kazakhstan strategic cooperation
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized the growing strategic partnership between Türkiye and Kazakhstan during a signing ceremony and joint press conference held with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Speaking after bilateral meetings with President Tokayev and accompanying delegations, Erdoğan stated that the two countries conducted comprehensive discussions on a wide range of cooperation areas, including trade, transportation, energy, healthcare, mining, culture, education, technology, and the defense industry.
“We comprehensively reviewed our cooperation in areas such as trade, transportation, energy, healthcare, mining, culture, education, technology, and the defense industry,” Erdoğan said during the joint appearance.
The Turkish president underlined the importance of strengthening economic and commercial relations between the two nations, noting that Ankara continues to encourage Turkish companies to increase their investments in Kazakhstan.
“We continue to encourage our business circles to increase their investments in Kazakhstan and to establish ties that will further strengthen our partnership,” he stated.
Erdoğan also highlighted the significance of the Turkish-Kazakh Business Forum, which he and President Tokayev are expected to address jointly. He expressed hope that the forum would pave the way for new economic partnerships and commercial opportunities between business communities from both countries.
On defense cooperation, Erdoğan said the two sides discussed projects aimed at further deepening military and defense industry collaboration, describing the sector as an important driving force behind expanding trade and investment relations.
“Today, we also discussed projects that will further advance our military and defense industry cooperation, which has created a multiplier effect in our trade and investment relations. I wish them to be beneficial and auspicious,” he added.
The meetings and signed agreements are seen as part of ongoing efforts by Türkiye and Kazakhstan to deepen strategic cooperation across multiple sectors and strengthen regional economic and political ties. (ILKHA)
