Four Lebanese citizens were handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Friday following their release by Israeli occupation forces, with the humanitarian organization stressing that the transfer was conducted with full respect for their safety and dignity.

According to local sources, the Lebanese Army received the four citizens through the Red Cross at the Naqoura border crossing in southern Lebanon.

The handover followed the release of the Lebanese nationals by Israeli forces. The ICRC facilitated the transfer in its capacity as a neutral humanitarian intermediary between the parties involved.

The organization emphasized that its role was strictly humanitarian and that it did not take part in negotiations or political processes surrounding the release.

The development follows the Lebanese Army’s receipt on Thursday of citizen Malek Ghazi, who was transferred by the ICRC after being released by Israeli occupation forces through the Naqoura crossing.

The latest handovers come amid continued tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border, where Israeli military activity and cross-border incidents have remained a source of concern.

The ICRC said its priority throughout the operation was to ensure that the individuals concerned were transferred safely and with their dignity fully respected. (ILKHA)
