Several Gazan detainees were injured during a raid carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities at Negev Prison around two weeks ago, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Media Office, which said one detainee, a doctor from Gaza, was struck by three plastic bullets while another suffered broken ribs after being beaten.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Palestinian Prisoners Media Office said numerous Gazan detainees were injured during the raid at Negev Prison.

The office said one of the injured was a doctor from Gaza who was hit by three plastic bullets during the assault.

It added that another detainee was beaten with batons, leaving him with broken ribs.

According to the statement, occupation forces also unleashed dogs on the Gazan detainees before forcing them to lie on the ground and assaulting them.

The Palestinian Prisoners Media Office held the occupation authorities responsible for the safety of Gazan detainees and called on the international community to intervene urgently to stop prison raids and hold those responsible accountable.

Mahmoud Mardawi, a senior Hamas leader, also said the resumption of prison raids reflected the harsh conditions faced by Palestinians held in occupation prisons.

Mardawi said testimonies emerging from prisons regarding torture and ill-treatment underscored the need for stronger support for Palestinian detainees, holding the occupation authorities responsible for the reported violations.(ILKHA)
