Iran, Azerbaijan vow to deepen ties, address regional challenges
Iran's Foreign Affairs Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, had a phone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov.
They discussed various matters, including bilateral issues and the current regional situation in the aftermath of recent conflicts.
During the call, they talked about the outcomes of recent meetings between the co-chairs of the Azerbaijan-Iran State Commission on Economic, Trade, and Humanitarian Cooperation, and they explored the next steps to be taken in this regard.
Both sides acknowledged the positive impact of high-level meetings and interdepartmental contacts on the development of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations.
Amir-Abdollahian mentioned his meeting with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, during his visit to Azerbaijan as part of the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Coordination Bureau.
Additionally, the ministers discussed measures necessary for the complete normalization of relations between the two countries.
Bayramov emphasized that despite Azerbaijan's peace proposals and initiatives to normalize the regional situation, Armenia's military and political provocations against Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty were hindering these efforts.
The conversation also touched upon other topics of mutual interest. (ILKHA)
