Iran has rejected US claims that maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is operating normally, reaffirming Tehran’s control over the strategic waterway and warning that any threat against the country will face a forceful response.

The spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters described Washington’s statements regarding normal vessel traffic as “falsehoods and lies,” arguing that the claims reflect what he characterized as growing US frustration and inability to alter the situation in the region.

The Iranian military official said the Strait of Hormuz remains under the management and control of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing that commercial vessels and oil tankers cannot safely pass through the strategic waterway without authorization and supervision by Iran’s Armed Forces.

The spokesperson accused the United States of repeatedly attempting to create what he called “mischief and insecurity” in the region, warning that threats against Iran would not undermine the country’s military preparedness.

He said Iran’s Armed Forces were closely monitoring the movements of US and Israeli forces across the region and remained prepared to defend Iranian sovereignty, national interests and the principles of the Islamic Revolution.

According to the statement, Iran’s military leadership remains committed to responding to any threat regardless of its nature or scale.

The Iranian spokesperson issued a direct warning that Iran would not hesitate to respond to hostile actions, saying any future response would be “more forceful and severe than before.”

His remarks underline Tehran’s determination to maintain what it considers its sovereign authority over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most strategically important waterways and a major route for global energy shipments.
