Islamic Emirate spokesman Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid has condemned the latest Pakistani military strikes on Afghan territory, describing them as an act of aggression and warning that Afghanistan would respond.

Mujahid said the Pakistani military had once again carried out attacks inside Afghanistan, accusing Islamabad of repeating what he described as previous acts of aggression in an attempt to divert attention from its own security challenges.

His remarks followed airstrikes carried out by Pakistani forces at around 3 a.m., which Afghan officials said targeted civilian areas in the provinces of Kunar and Paktika.

According to the Islamic Emirate, the strikes killed and wounded seven people, including women and children.

Mujahid condemned the reported civilian casualties and said Afghanistan would not allow such attacks to go unanswered. He warned that the Islamic Emirate would deliver what he described as a “befitting response” to the latest strikes.

The latest incident adds to growing tensions along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, where Islamabad has repeatedly accused armed groups based in Afghanistan of carrying out attacks against Pakistan.

Afghan authorities have rejected such allegations and have repeatedly called for dialogue and diplomatic mechanisms to address security concerns between the two neighboring countries.

The Islamic Emirate has maintained that Afghanistan's territory will not be used against other countries while also insisting on its right to defend the country's territorial sovereignty against cross-border attacks. (ILKHA)
