Israeli settlers launched a series of attacks on Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank early Tuesday, setting fire to homes and vehicles and damaging property in the Nablus and Ramallah areas, Palestinian sources said.

In the southern Nablus town of Jalud, settlers attacked two homes belonging to the Tubasi family shortly after its members returned to the properties following an Israeli court ruling allowing them to reclaim them.

The family had been forced to leave the area about two months ago after repeated attacks and harassment, according to family member Tubasi. The two homes belong to his sons, Wael and Qais.

Tubasi said the family was informed on Monday evening through the Palestinian liaison office that it could return to the properties under the escort of Israeli forces.

However, settlers attacked the family shortly after it arrived, he said, forcing its members to leave again.

The settlers then set fire to both homes and a vehicle belonging to the family and vandalized their contents, according to Tubasi.

Israeli forces acknowledged that settlers had set fire to Palestinian homes and property in Jalud. The Israeli military said more than 100 settlers had blocked roads in the town, burned tires and thrown stones at Israeli forces.

The incident followed an Israeli court order requiring authorities to facilitate the return of Palestinians who had been forced from their homes in Jalud. Israeli media reported that clashes broke out between settlers and Israeli security forces as authorities attempted to implement the ruling.

The United Nations has repeatedly documented settler attacks in Jalud and other Palestinian communities in the Nablus and Ramallah areas. OCHA reported that more than 1,600 settler attacks resulting in Palestinian casualties, property damage or both had been recorded across the West Bank by Sept. 14, 2026.

In the Ramallah area, settlers also attacked the Palestinian village of al-Mughayyir, setting fire to the home of prisoner Fikri Abu Alia and two vehicles belonging to other residents, according to Palestinian sources.

Al-Mughayyir has faced repeated attacks in recent months. UN reports have documented damage to homes, vehicles, water infrastructure and other Palestinian property in the village, as well as injuries linked to settler violence.

The latest incidents come amid a broader escalation in settler attacks across the occupied West Bank, where Palestinian communities have faced repeated violence, property destruction and restrictions on access to homes and agricultural land.

According to OCHA, recurrent settler attacks and related movement restrictions have contributed to the displacement of thousands of Palestinians in the West Bank this year, while also disrupting access to essential services and livelihoods. (ILKHA)
