Israel regime forces shell area around dam in Syria’s Quneitra countryside
Israel regime forces shelled the area surrounding Al-Mantara Dam in the central countryside of Syria's Quneitra province, renewing military attacks in the area, according to Syrian media.
Syrian state-run Al-Ikhbariya TV reported that Israel regime forces fired three artillery shells at the vicinity of Al-Mantara Dam on Wednesday evening. No casualties or material damage were immediately reported.
The shelling came a day after Israel regime forces reportedly carried out two incursions into rural Quneitra, where troops assaulted shepherds, including minors, during raids in the area, according to local media. Syrian media also recalled that Israel regime forces had previously shelled Al-Hamriya Hill near the village of Tranja in northern Quneitra countryside with four artillery shells as military activity in the province intensified.
According to Syrian media, Israel regime forces have continued operations across southern Syria, including artillery shelling, incursions, detentions of civilians and bulldozing activities.
Syrian officials say these actions constitute repeated violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, which established a buffer zone between Syrian and Israeli forces following the 1973 Arab-Israeli war.
The latest shelling is part of a series of recurring attacks reported in Quneitra and other parts of southern Syria in recent weeks, amid continuing tensions along the occupied Golan frontier.(ILKHA)
