Israeli occupation forces raided several towns south of Jenin in the occupied West Bank early Tuesday, kidnapping 14 Palestinians, including former prisoners released under a prisoner exchange deal, before interrogating and later releasing them.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners' Club, occupation forces stormed the towns of Kafr Rai, Arraba and Fahma, raiding numerous homes during the operation.

The organization said 14 Palestinians were detained during the raids, noting that most of those held had previously been released as part of a prisoner exchange agreement.

In Fahma, occupation forces converted a residential home into a temporary military interrogation center, where the detainees were questioned.

During the raids, occupation soldiers searched numerous homes, damaged household belongings and interrogated local residents.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club later said all 14 Palestinians were released following interrogation, after which occupation forces withdrew from the three towns.

Local sources reported that at least five homes were searched in Kafr Rai alone, while a large number of military vehicles were deployed throughout the area. The raids in Kafr Rai, Arraba and Fahma continued overnight before occupation forces pulled back.

The raids came amid an ongoing escalation of Israeli military operations across the occupied West Bank, particularly in Jenin Governorate, where occupation forces have intensified incursions, home searches and detention campaigns in recent months. Palestinian media reported that Israeli forces carried out additional raids in villages across the Jenin area on the same day as part of the wider military campaign.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club has repeatedly warned that former prisoners released in exchange agreements have increasingly been targeted in renewed detention and interrogation campaigns during Israeli military operations in the occupied West Bank. (ILKHA)
