Pakistan has facilitated the safe return of 22 Iranian crew members who had been prevented from continuing their journey by U.S. authorities, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar said.
Dar said the crew members arrived safely in the southern port city of Karachi and that Pakistani authorities are working closely with Iranian diplomatic missions to ensure their swift and secure return home.
He said Pakistan remained in close contact with both U.S. and Iranian officials throughout the process to coordinate the operation.
According to Dar, the latest group is the fourth batch of Iranian crew members repatriated through Pakistan over the past two months, bringing the total number assisted to more than 70.
