Three people were killed and seven others were injured, several of them critically, after a mass shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in the southern Idaho city of Twin Falls on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

Police officers responding to reports of gunfire arrived at the restaurant to find multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel treated the injured at the scene before transporting them to nearby hospitals for further care.

Twin Falls Public Information Officer Josh Palmer said officers later discovered the body of the suspected gunman in an area near the restaurant. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the suspect's death is included in the reported fatality count or disclosed how the individual died.

Officials said the identities of those killed and injured have not yet been released as authorities continue notifying next of kin. The ages and backgrounds of the victims also remain unknown.

Several of the wounded remain in critical condition, raising concerns that the death toll could rise.
