Türkiye and Oman discuss Strait of Hormuz and regional developments
Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Musa Kulaklıkaya met with Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Oman’s Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the Omani capital Muscat, according to diplomatic sources.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations and regional developments, with particular attention given to the situation surrounding the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
The Turkish and Omani officials exchanged views on recent developments affecting regional security and stability, as well as issues of mutual concern.
The Strait of Hormuz, a vital international maritime route connecting the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, has remained at the center of heightened regional tensions.
The discussions in Muscat come as diplomatic efforts intensify to address growing security concerns in the region and prevent further escalation.
Türkiye and Oman have maintained close diplomatic ties and regularly consult on regional developments, with Muscat playing an important role in regional mediation and dialogue efforts.
The meeting underscored the two countries’ continued commitment to diplomatic engagement and cooperation on issues affecting regional peace, security and stability. (ILKHA)
