Ukrainian long-range drone attacks targeted multiple locations in Russia overnight, striking industrial facilities and logistics warehouses near Moscow and in northwestern Russia, according to Russian officials.

Authorities said several fires broke out in the Novoselki industrial zone outside the Russian capital following the drone strikes. Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov said preliminary information indicated that five people were killed and 10 others injured in the attack.

Emergency services were deployed to extinguish the fires and assess the extent of the damage, while investigations into the incidents remain ongoing.

In Russia's Leningrad region, Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko reported that another Ukrainian drone struck a warehouse near Krasny Bor, injuring one person. The facility belongs to Wildberries, Russia's largest e-commerce company, which confirmed that a fire broke out at its logistics center as a result of the attack.

A separate Wildberries warehouse was also targeted in the rural area of Emmaus, approximately 180 kilometers northwest of Moscow, according to Tver Region Governor Vitaly Korolyov. Authorities did not immediately release details regarding casualties or the extent of the damage at that location.

Wildberries is Russia's leading online retail platform and is frequently compared to Amazon due to its dominant position in the country's e-commerce sector. Russian media estimate that the company accounts for up to 10 percent of the nation's total retail turnover.

Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022, the company has faced allegations that it has facilitated the import of Western-branded goods into Russia through third countries, allowing consumers access to products affected by international sanctions. Wildberries has not publicly commented on those allegations.

The latest attacks come as Ukraine continues to expand its long-range drone campaign against targets inside Russia. Kyiv says the strikes are intended to weaken Russia's military and logistical capabilities and are carried out in response to repeated Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure.

In recent weeks, Ukrainian forces have reportedly increased attacks on logistics facilities and warehouses linked to Wildberries, highlighting a broader focus on disrupting Russia's supply chains.

The overnight strikes underscore the continuing escalation of cross-border drone warfare, with both Russia and Ukraine increasingly relying on unmanned aerial systems to target strategic infrastructure far from the front lines. (ILKHA)
