Yemeni armed forces said they carried out a large-scale missile and drone operation targeting Saudi military facilities at King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait, in southern Saudi Arabia.

In a statement, the forces said the operation was launched in response to what they described as intensified Saudi airstrikes against Yemen.

The statement claimed that Saudi warplanes, including F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets operating from Khamis Mushait and Taif air bases, had carried out more than 300 airstrikes over the past five days, targeting areas across several Yemeni provinces.

Sanaa forces said their latest operation involved dozens of ballistic missiles and drones aimed at military facilities and infrastructure at King Khalid Air Base.

According to the statement, the targets included aircraft hangars, radar installations, runways, ammunition depots and other military positions. The forces claimed the strikes were “precise and direct” and caused significant losses at the base.

The Sanaa-based forces warned that they would continue launching military operations inside Saudi Arabia if what they called the “aggression” against Yemen continued.

“Any new aggression will be met with broader and more intense operations,” the statement said.

The forces also reiterated what they described as an “escalation with escalation” policy, saying they would continue targeting Saudi military concentrations until the attacks on Yemen stop and what they called the siege on the country is lifted.
