Consumer confidence in Türkiye rose in September, with the consumer confidence index increasing to 91.9, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on Tuesday.

The index, which stood at 90.8 in August, increased by 1.3% month-on-month in September, indicating a modest improvement in consumer sentiment.

The consumer confidence index is calculated based on the results of the Consumer Tendency Survey conducted jointly by TÜİK and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT).

The indicator tracks households' assessments and expectations regarding their financial situation and the broader economic outlook, providing an indication of consumer sentiment and spending tendencies.

The September increase follows a decline in consumer confidence recorded in the previous month and brings the index closer to the 100-point threshold, which serves as a reference point in interpreting the balance between optimistic and pessimistic consumer expectations.
