10 killed, 32 injured in massive hotel fire at Turkish ski resort

A devastating fire at a hotel in Kartalkaya Ski Resort, Bolu province, has resulted in the death of ten individuals and left 32 others injured.
The incident occurred early Tuesday morning, with the blaze erupting around 3:30 a.m. local time (0030 GMT) on the fourth floor of an 11-story hotel, as confirmed by the Bolu Governor's Office.
Emergency services responded with urgency, deploying 30 fire trucks and 28 ambulances from Bolu and surrounding areas. The operation involved a total of 85 vehicles and 231 personnel, as efforts to combat the fire and rescue trapped individuals continued without pause.
Initial reports from the scene indicated six fatalities and 31 injuries, but the death toll later rose to 10. The injured were promptly transported to hospitals across the province for treatment.
Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydın stated that the fire's origin was not immediately clear but confirmed it began on the restaurant floor. At the time of the fire, the hotel was hosting 234 guests.
An investigation has been initiated by local authorities to ascertain the exact cause of this tragic event.
Kartalkaya Ski Resort, famed for its winter sports and scenic beauty, is situated on the Köroğlu Mountains, about 38 kilometers from Bolu and 270 kilometers from Istanbul.
