As the Israeli occupation regime's attacks on Palestine persist, protests in support of Palestine and condemning the occupiers continue unabated in many cities around the world and Türkiye.
Since October 7, thousands of people in Bingöl have marched with Palestinian flags in hand, chanting slogans against israeli regime and expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza. The protests, aimed at stopping what they term as the genocide in Gaza, highlight the plight of women, children, and the elderly being massacred.
The march saw participation from various political and civil society representatives of Bingöl, along with Talal Nassar, a leader of the Hamas movement. Demonstrators gathered in front of the Central Ulu Mosque and marched to the City Park, where they continued to curse the Zionist regime and chant takbir.
At the end of the march, Talal Nassar made a statement emphasizing the need for a new generation inspired by historical figures like Saladin Ayyubi and Omar Ibn Khattab. He stated, "Palestine is a place conquered by Saladin Ayyubi and Omar Ibn Khattab. If a cause for freedom is being fought in that holy land today, it is being fought on behalf of the ummah. By gathering here and supporting this movement, you have become a partner in that cause."
Nassar highlighted the historical and generational nature of the struggle, comparing it to the efforts of Saladin Ayyubi and Sheikh Ahmad Yassin. "We need to raise a generation like the one raised by Saladin. Just as Saladin Ayyubi raised a generation of freedom when he liberated Palestine, it is our duty today to raise such a generation. Sheikh Ahmad Yassin raised these mujahideen in the spirit of freedom, connected to the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet."
He concluded by emphasizing the importance of generational continuity in the struggle against occupation forces. "The war between us and the occupation forces and the terrorist state is actually a generational war. We can ensure our future by raising a generation that will eliminate such movements and occupations in the Islamic world."
The march in Bingöl reflects a broader global movement of solidarity with the Palestinian cause, as protests continue to erupt worldwide, demanding an end to the violence and occupation in Gaza. (ILKHA)
