Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the United States' decision to remove Syria from its State Sponsors of Terrorism list, describing the move as an important step toward the country's economic recovery and reintegration into the international community.

In a statement, the ministry expressed appreciation for the US administration's decision and commended the constructive support provided by the US Congress throughout the process.

The ministry also congratulated the Syrian government and people for what it described as their determined approach during the process.

It said the decision removes one of the major obstacles to Syria's economic recovery and post-war reconstruction, a goal Türkiye has long supported.

According to the statement, the move is expected to accelerate efforts to strengthen Syria's ties with the international community while contributing to the establishment of lasting security and stability in the country.

The ministry called on the international community to work together toward the shared objective of a stable and prosperous Syria.
