Türkiye’s largest tech fair, SDN Tech Expo, kicks off in Istanbul

Türkiye’s biggest technology event, the SDN Tech Expo, officially opened its doors at the Yenikapı Eurasia Show and Art Centre in Istanbul, drawing thousands of visitors, tech enthusiasts, and industry professionals.
The event, which runs for three days, aims to unite manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and technology lovers under one roof.
The fair, also known as the New Generation Technologies and Consumer Electronics Fair, features a wide range of innovative technologies—from artificial intelligence and mobility solutions to gaming systems and sustainable energy developments. A major highlight is Türkiye’s first national flying car, Air Car, showcased as a symbol of the country’s ambitions in aerospace innovation.
In addition to cutting-edge exhibits, the event also presents two unique exhibitions. The first features over 4,000 antique mobile phones, offering a comprehensive look at the evolution of mobile technology. The second showcases Apple computers produced between 1976 and 2008, giving visitors a rare glimpse into the historical development of personal computing.
The SDN Tech Expo is not only a hub for established companies but also a launchpad for aspiring entrepreneurs. A designated area for startups allows innovators to present their business ideas and share their entrepreneurial journeys directly with attendees. For young visitors, the fair provides valuable opportunities to engage with industry leaders, explore career guidance content, and immerse themselves in Türkiye’s growing technology ecosystem.
Hakkı Alkan, the organiser of the event, encouraged visitors to experience the full range of exhibits and panels. “There are significant events happening here,” he said during the opening. “Türkiye's flying car is here. We’re experiencing many firsts at this venue after a long time. We also have brand representatives available—ask them your questions. This fair will lead to meaningful collaborations, especially for entrepreneurs presenting their ideas for the first time.”
Alkan also highlighted the importance of the two major exhibitions. “We have an antique mobile phone exhibition featuring more than 4,000 devices. Visitors will enjoy revisiting phones they once used. Additionally, our Apple exhibition covers a historic span from the company’s earliest models to more recent ones,” he said.
With interactive experiences, expert panels, and unprecedented showcases, the SDN Tech Expo 2025 promises to be a landmark event for Türkiye’s technology and innovation scene. (ILKHA)
