The Public Health Emergency Operations Center of Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health reported that Israeli airstrikes as of Sunday have claimed 16 lives and injured 90 others.
The latest updates bring the cumulative toll since the start of the hostilities to 3,002 casualties and 13,492 wounded, according to the ministry's daily report on the impact of the ongoing aggression.
Israeli air activity, particularly drone surveillance and low-altitude flights, has intensified over key areas, including Tyre, Beirut, and its Southern Suburb since Monday evening. Israeli military drones and warplanes have continued strikes across several southern towns, increasing fears and leading to significant civilian injuries and property damage.
Among recent incidents, an Israeli drone launched a guided missile at the town of Haris, injuring civilians, and another missile hit a car in Tireh, Bent Jbeil district. Surveillance and combat aircraft activity extended over the western and central sectors of southern Lebanon, with Israeli planes dropping flares over villages near the border.
Israeli warplanes also struck areas surrounding Jabal al-Batm and the town of Harouf, while an airstrike targeted a farm in Mashrif, Tyre. Rescue teams from the Islamic al-Risala Scouts Association were dispatched to aid the wounded and clear debris in Ma’aroub in Tyre district, which had been hit earlier in the day.
Further bombardment was reported in Aita al-Shaab in Bent Jbeil, with a large explosion heard in the nearby village of Yaroun. Artillery shelling hit the town of Shebaa in Hasbaya district, while more shelling was reported in Khiam. Additionally, an Israeli drone targeted Naqoura, a border town.
These intensified strikes and the ongoing shelling have increased tensions and disrupted daily life, as Lebanese rescue teams continue efforts to assist affected civilians amidst the destruction. (ILKHA)
