Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called on the United States to revise its approach toward Tehran, warning that reliance on pressure and coercion would further complicate diplomatic efforts and the implementation of agreements.

Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in Tehran, where the two officials discussed bilateral relations, regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving ongoing tensions.

The Iranian president said Washington should change its tone and approach in dealing with Iran and honor its commitments based on Iran’s legitimate rights and international standards.

“America must revise its tone and approach in its interaction with Iran, because reliance on bullying and coercion will only complicate implementation processes,” Pezeshkian said.

He also thanked Pakistan for what he described as its constructive mediation efforts and expressed hope that the objectives of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding would be achieved through continued political will, cooperation and dialogue.

Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of national unity in confronting external pressure, saying Iran’s resilience was rooted in national cohesion.

“Our nation will overcome any pressure or threat through this solidarity,” he said.

The Iranian president also stressed the importance of lasting peace and cooperation among Muslim countries, describing closer ties with Islamic nations and neighboring states as a fundamental necessity.

He said Iran was ready to expand cooperation with Islamic countries in economic, political and security fields, while emphasizing the importance of peaceful relations and friendship.

Pezeshkian further described unity among Muslim countries as a key deterrent against what he called conspiracies by the Israeli regime and its allies.

“If this convergence is achieved, the enemies will not be able to advance their sinister goals,” he said.

Munir, meanwhile, thanked Pezeshkian for his efforts to promote stability in the region and stressed the importance of pursuing diplomatic initiatives carefully and precisely to achieve a comprehensive agreement.

The Pakistani military chief said Islamabad would continue its facilitating role in efforts to resolve regional tensions.

He added that an end to the current crisis could open a new chapter of cooperation focused on reconstruction, regional development and collective security.

The meeting in Tehran comes as Iran and Pakistan continue to strengthen bilateral coordination while Islamabad seeks to play a constructive role in regional diplomacy and efforts to reduce tensions. (ILKHA)
