Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian shepherds in the village of Kafr Malik, northeast of Ramallah, on Thursday, injuring one man and stealing approximately 300 sheep.

The assault, which took place near the Ein Samia area, targeted shepherds Khaled Ghneimat and Mustafa Rabie, whose livestock was forcibly taken by the settlers. Rabie was physically assaulted while attempting to protect his flock, highlighting the violent nature of the attack.

Adding to the outrage, Israeli occupation forces stationed at the Ein Siniya checkpoint north of Ramallah obstructed an ambulance transporting the injured Palestinian, leaving his condition unknown. The settlers also extended their attacks to the nearby village of Taybeh, east of Ramallah, further escalating tensions in the region.

Palestinian communities east of Ramallah have faced relentless assaults from settlers and Israeli forces, particularly since the intensification of Israel’s military campaign in the Gaza Strip. These attacks are part of a broader pattern of violence and dispossession aimed at displacing Palestinians and seizing their land and resources. According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, over the past month alone, 1,201 attacks have been documented against Palestinians and their property, with 1,322 perpetrated by Israeli occupation forces and 466 by settlers.

The assault on Kafr Malik underscores the ongoing struggle of Palestinian villagers against settler colonialism and systemic oppression. Local residents and activists are calling for international intervention to hold the perpetrators accountable and protect Palestinian communities from further violence and theft.
