Jordan closes airspace again amid growing regional tensions

Jordan has once again closed its airspace to all inbound, outbound, and transit flights, citing escalating regional tensions and safety concerns.
The announcement was made late Saturday night by Haitham Misto, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission.
The decision came just hours after the Kingdom had reopened its airspace at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, following a brief closure the previous day. The temporary reopening was swiftly reversed in response to deteriorating security conditions in the region.
Misto emphasized that the closure is a precautionary measure taken in line with international aviation safety protocols, including the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, which sets global standards for the safety of air navigation.
The reimposed flight ban reflects growing concern across the Middle East as regional conflicts intensify, with several countries implementing similar airspace restrictions to protect civilian air traffic. (ILKHA)
