Palestinian killed by Israeli gunfire in Rafah

A Palestinian man was fatally shot by Israeli occupation forces this morning near Martyrs Square in central Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to eyewitness accounts, the man was targeted by Israeli snipers stationed along the Philadelphi Corridor.
The incident occurred as tensions remain high in Gaza, with residents attempting to navigate the aftermath of a devastating Israeli military campaign. Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have carried out extensive operations in the region, resulting in the deaths of at least 47,283 Palestinians and injuries to over 111,472 others.
Efforts to return displaced Palestinians to the northern Gaza Strip have been hindered by Israeli occupation forces. Reports from the ground indicate that dozens of individuals sustained injuries while waiting to move northward—a return initially scheduled for the previous day. However, Israeli forces have continued to obstruct their efforts, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
Adding to the grim toll, an estimated 10,000 people remain unaccounted for, presumed to be buried under the rubble of destroyed homes across the Gaza Strip.
The ongoing violence and blockades have drawn widespread condemnation from international organizations and human rights groups, who continue to call for urgent humanitarian assistance and an end to hostilities. (ILKHA)
