Palestinian killed, child abducted in Israeli settler attacks in the West Bank
A Palestinian man was killed and several others injured or assaulted in a series of incidents involving Israeli settlers across the occupied West Bank on Wednesday evening, according to medical sources.
The fatal incident occurred near the village of Tayasir, east of Tubas, where 28-year-old Alaa Sobeih was shot during clashes that erupted after settlers reportedly attempted to attack the area. Local sources said confrontations broke out between Palestinian residents and settlers near an outpost in the area.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that Israeli forces prevented its ambulance crews from reaching the wounded man as he bled at the scene. Paramedics were reportedly detained, with their mobile phones and identification confiscated. Sobeih later succumbed to his injuries, and his body was withheld by Israeli forces.
In a separate incident, settlers abducted a 14-year-old boy, identified as Osaid Mahmoud, from the village of Qabalan in southern Nablus. He was reportedly taken to the nearby settlement of Itamar.
Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, settlers assaulted a young man working on his land in the village of Aqaba. Additional clashes were reported in Tubas, where Israeli forces detained a young man following settler attacks on local residents.
Further south, confrontations were reported between the town of Aqraba and the village of Yanun, where several Palestinian youths were assaulted. One individual was injured and transferred to hospital for treatment.
In the town of Burin, a woman suffered suffocation after settlers reportedly sprayed pepper spray inside her home during an attack.
Another incident took place in the village of Einabus, where settlers abducted two young men, took them to an area near the settlement of Yitzhar, and reportedly subjected them to abuse before releasing them.
The incidents highlight ongoing tensions and repeated confrontations in the West Bank, where Palestinian communities continue to report attacks involving settlers and Israeli forces. (ILKHA)
