Seven Palestinians killed in Israeli drone strikes across Gaza
At least seven Palestinians were killed and several others wounded on Thursday in a series of Israeli drone strikes across central and southern Gaza, according to Palestinian medical sources.
In southern Gaza, three people were killed when an Israeli drone targeted a police point at the al-Maslakh junction in the al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis. Medical officials at Nasser Medical Complex said multiple wounded civilians were transported to the hospital, some in critical condition. The strike reportedly occurred outside areas of direct Israeli ground deployment.
In central Gaza, two more Palestinians were killed and others injured after a drone strike hit a police point near the entrance to the al-Bureij refugee camp. Casualties were transferred to nearby hospitals as medical facilities across the Strip continue to receive patients amid ongoing hostilities.
In a separate incident, two Palestinians were killed and four others wounded when an Israeli drone struck a civilian gathering inside al-Mahatta Park in the Tuffah neighborhood of eastern Gaza City. A medical source told Anadolu Agency that the victims were taken to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital for treatment.
The Israeli military separately announced it had killed a Palestinian in southern Gaza, alleging that the individual crossed the so-called “Yellow Line,” a temporary boundary established under the October 10 ceasefire agreement. According to the army, the man approached Israeli positions and was shot to “remove the threat.”
The Yellow Line marks areas where Israeli forces remain stationed—covering roughly 53 percent of Gaza’s territory—from western zones where limited Palestinian movement is permitted under the truce.
Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 618 Palestinians have been killed and more than 1,660 injured by Israeli fire since the ceasefire took effect in October 2025.
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said the continued strikes reflect what he described as Israel’s disregard for mediation efforts. He argued that although the intensity of operations may have shifted, the broader policy toward Gaza remains unchanged.
Palestinian officials maintain that despite the ceasefire, Israeli forces have continued aerial strikes, live fire incidents, and restrictions on civilian movement and humanitarian access.
There was no immediate additional comment from Israeli authorities regarding Thursday’s strikes beyond the statement concerning the alleged border crossing incident. (ILKHA)
