Two soldiers killed as tank explodes during Bangladesh military exercise
Two Bangladeshi soldiers were killed and a captain was seriously injured after a Chinese-made Type 59 tank exploded during a live-fire military exercise in southeastern Bangladesh.
The accident occurred at the Hathazari Field Firing Range in Chattogram while the tank was conducting a scheduled firing exercise using live ammunition. The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined.
Bangladesh's Ministry of Defence confirmed that two soldiers were killed in the blast, while the injured captain was airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka for emergency treatment.
The Bangladesh Army has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion. Military authorities said further details would be released after the inquiry is completed.
