Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement has issued a strong warning to the United States, threatening to close the strategically vital Bab el-Mandeb Strait if Washington continues exerting pressure on Iran and fails to halt attacks on Lebanon.

Muhammad al-Farah, a member of the group’s political bureau, called on Washington to revise its regional policies, warning that continued escalation could directly impact vital global energy routes.

“The United States fears war. If energy corridors are damaged, the cost will be severe—not only for the region but for the American and global economy,” he said.

Al-Farah cautioned that the consequences would not be limited to a single waterway, indicating that broader maritime routes could also be affected if tensions intensify.

He stressed that the only viable path for US President Donald Trump is to end pressure on Iran and stop attacks targeting Lebanon.

The Bab el-Mandeb Strait is a critical global transit route connecting the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, through which a significant share of international trade and energy supplies passes.

The warning comes amid rising regional tensions and growing concerns over the security of key maritime corridors.(ILKHA)
