Afghanistan and Malaysia have discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, with officials emphasizing greater cooperation in education, technical training and political engagement.

Mawlavi Shoaib Baryalai, Director of the First Political Directorate at Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Durin Jack, Director of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP), to explore opportunities for expanding cooperation between Kabul and Kuala Lumpur.

During the meeting, Baryalai highlighted the importance of capacity-building and technical cooperation, stressing the potential benefits of joint educational initiatives and expanded exchanges of expertise.

He also called for stronger high-level political dialogue between the two countries, saying continued engagement could contribute to broader bilateral cooperation.

The Afghan and Malaysian officials discussed maintaining existing technical collaboration while identifying new areas for cooperation.

Baryalai emphasized the importance of developing educational programs that could strengthen professional skills and institutional capacity, while greater exchanges of technical knowledge could provide additional opportunities for cooperation between the two sides.

The meeting also underscored the role of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program in supporting knowledge and skills development through international technical cooperation.

Both delegations reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining ongoing technical cooperation and expanding bilateral relations.

The officials agreed that continued dialogue and practical cooperation could help consolidate ties between Afghanistan and Malaysia across political, educational and technical fields.

The meeting reflects Kabul’s efforts to broaden diplomatic and technical engagement with regional and international partners, while Malaysia continues to engage Afghanistan through development and technical cooperation channels. (ILKHA)
