HÜDA PAR Deputy Chairman calls for radical solutions to Kurdish issue

HÜDA PAR Deputy Chairman and Gaziantep MP Şahzade Demir held a press conference at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, where he discussed the Kurdish issue and the potential for a new solution process.
Demir emphasized the importance of resolving the Kurdish issue, stating: “Everyone who thinks about the future of the country and wants the good of the country agrees that the Kurdish issue must be resolved.” He criticized the negative attitudes of those influenced by racism and fascism, arguing that such perspectives hinder Türkiye’s development and its position on the regional and global stage.
During his remarks, Demir distinguished between the Kurdish issue and the PKK problem, asserting that a comprehensive solution must be grounded in justice and law. “It is not possible to find a radical solution to the issue with some arrangements in the form of partial fulfillment of fundamental rights,” he argued, stressing that solutions should not be framed as favors but as rights. He highlighted the significance of Islamic brotherhood in addressing the Kurdish issue, calling for a legal framework that emphasizes brotherhood over mere rhetoric.
Demir also stated that the disarmament of the PKK is crucial for political normalization in Türkiye. However, he asserted that negotiating with an armed organization to resolve the Kurdish question represents a political dead end and lacks legal legitimacy. “No political party alone is the representative of all Kurds,” he remarked, warning against the dangers of treating a single political entity as the sole interlocutor in these discussions, as this could lead to repeating past mistakes and ultimately failing to achieve a solution.
Looking ahead, Demir called for significant steps toward a radical resolution of the Kurdish issue, urging the establishment of a new civilian constitution and fostering an environment of peace and brotherhood. He stated: “Serious steps must be taken to solve the Kurdish issue radically and to fully establish justice and Islamic brotherhood.” He emphasized that any obstacles to brotherhood that have persisted for the last century must be eliminated to prevent future conflicts.
Demir concluded by affirming HÜDA PAR’s commitment to taking responsibility for the resolution of the Kurdish issue, emphasizing their readiness to engage in efforts that prioritize rights and justice. As discussions around the Kurdish issue evolve, the need for a comprehensive approach that includes all stakeholders remains critical for achieving lasting peace in Türkiye. (ILKHA)
