In a press conference held at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, HÜDA PAR Deputy Chairman and Mersin MP Faruk Dinç issued a call for urgent actions to counter the “genocidal attacks” by Israeli occupation forces in Gaza and Lebanon.
He demanded an immediate cessation of all trade with Israel, intensified efforts to open a humanitarian corridor for aid, and sports sanctions against Israeli teams. His address highlighted the need for greater coordination among Islamic countries to maintain Gaza as a top priority and to respond collectively against occupation forces.
Dinç began by condemning the prolonged suffering in Gaza, where he noted that Israeli forces had expanded their operations to Lebanon. “The Israeli occupation forces, which have been continuing their genocide in Gaza for over a year, have now spread these massacres to Lebanon,” he stated, underscoring the reported use of prohibited weapons that have turned the region into a “bloodbath.” In addition to these arms, he pointed to the weaponization of hunger, with Gaza’s northern regions facing an extreme blockade that denies residents food, water, and medicine. The winter cold, he warned, would only worsen the crisis, as fuel supplies are also blocked.
Dinç called for immediate international action to address the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza, stressing, “A humanitarian corridor must urgently be opened to provide aid to both Lebanon and Gaza.”
Cease Trade with Israeli Regime
Turning to the economic sphere, Dinç demanded a halt to all trade with Israel and emphasized the need to strike “supply chains that support the occupation forces.” He criticized Turkey’s ongoing trade through Azerbaijan, urging a reexamination of these channels, which he described as indirectly supporting occupation policies. Dinç further alleged that the United States was engaging in a “ceasefire game” that buys time for Israel, allowing it to regroup and rearm under the guise of negotiation. “No Islamic country should be fooled by this game of the USA,” he insisted. “Gaza should remain on the agenda in every forum, with pressure exerted to mobilize Islamic countries in support.”
Condolences and Solidarity with Hezbollah
In his statement, Dinç paid tribute to Hashim Safiyuddin, the Chairman of the Executive Council of Lebanese Hezbollah, who was reportedly killed in an Israeli attack. Expressing his condolences to the Lebanese people, Dinç also congratulated Sheikh Naim Qassem on his election to succeed the late Hassan Nasrallah, the former Secretary General of Hezbollah, signaling a strong show of solidarity with Hezbollah and Lebanon.
Sports Boycott: “No Legitimacy for Israeli Teams”
Dinç turned his focus to international sports competitions, particularly a recent basketball match in which a Turkish team was required to play against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv. Referring to the Israeli basketball team as “no ordinary sports team,” he argued that Maccabi openly supports the ongoing attacks, calling for donations to support military actions on its website and engaging in “genocide propaganda.”
“Forced to play in Lithuania without fans, supposedly for security reasons, our team should not have to legitimize these Israeli teams,” Dinç asserted. He called for a full ban on Israeli sports teams from international competitions, drawing parallels with sanctions placed on Russian teams following the Ukraine-Russia war. “Just as Russian teams were excluded due to their country’s military actions, the teams of these ‘genocidaires’ should face the same treatment,” he stated.
Dinç urged Turkish teams to refuse participation in matches with Israeli teams, saying, “Even if it costs our team a loss, we should not take the field and in no way legitimize the occupation.” He added that every stakeholder has a responsibility to act, reinforcing that “taking part in the same field as teams from the Zionist regime is a form of endorsement.”
A Call for United Islamic Response
In his closing remarks, Dinç reiterated the need for Islamic nations to come together to support Gaza. He called for regional alliances to counter what he described as “Zionist expansionist policies” and urged Turkey, along with other nations, to take concrete steps against the humanitarian crises in Gaza and Lebanon. “Humanitarian corridors, military, logistical, and technological support to the resistance, and recognition of Hamas’s terms for a ceasefire,” he outlined, are key measures that Islamic countries should push for on international platforms.
Dinç concluded with a passionate appeal for unity and resilience, commending the people of Gaza and the broader Palestinian resistance. He urged citizens to boycott products linked to the occupation and affirmed his commitment to “defending Jerusalem until the Zionist occupation regime is wiped off the map.”
The press conference encapsulated HÜDA PAR’s stance on the ongoing conflict, drawing attention to the humanitarian, economic, and ethical implications while urging Türkiye and the international community to take decisive actions in support of Gaza and Lebanon. (ILKHA)
