Iran employs painted decoys to mislead US, Israeli forces
Iran has reportedly adopted an unconventional deception tactic in response to attacks by the United States and the Israeli occupation regime, using painted images of military aircraft and helicopters on the ground to mislead hostile forces.
According to local reports, Iranian units drew life-sized outlines of helicopters and aircraft using inexpensive paint in strategic areas. The tactic allegedly caused opposing forces to strike the painted targets with high-value munitions, believing them to be real military assets.
Sources indicated that while the decoys cost only a few dollars to produce, the strikes carried out against them involved munitions worth millions of dollars. The approach is said to aim at exhausting the enemy’s operational capacity and forcing it to expend costly resources on false targets.
Officials stated that such deception methods fall within established military strategy, emphasizing that misdirection and camouflage remain effective tools in asymmetric warfare.
No independent confirmation from US or Israeli occupation authorities regarding the alleged incident has been issued.(ILKHA)
