A search is underway for a missing infant while 15 people have been rescued alive on Friday by Turkish Coast Guards after a migrant boat sank off the coast of the Aegean Sea.
An inflatable boat with irregular migrants sank off Yalıkavak coast, near Bodrum, in Muğla province.
It was reported that an inflatable boat including some irregular migrants sank off the coast of Muğla's Bodrum district/Yalıkavak and the irregular migrants on board requested for help.
"1 CG helicopter and 4 CG boats were dispatched to the area immediately," said Turkish Coast Guard in a statement.
As a result of the SAR operation, 14 irregular migrants and 1 suspected organizer (Turkish), totally 15 people were rescued alive at sea.
According to the statements of the irregular migrants, they were 16 people on board the inflatable boat. SAR operations are still ongoing for the purpose of finding 1 irregular migrant (1 baby) who was considered to be missing. (ILKHA)
