Support to the Diyanet President Görmez from scholars

The scholars who were in evaluations of the news that the Presidency of Religious Affairs Mehmet Görmez was about to leave his office said that Görmez should remain in office.
The scholars who were in evaluations of the news that Diyanet President Prof. Mehmet Görmez to leave his duty, who is on since 2010, said that Görmez has an Ummah point of view and he should remain in office.
The scholars have stated that Görmez is serving Islam truly, striving to enlighten society with Islam and trying to reach every sect.
Mehmet Şenlik, Deputy Chairman of the Union of Scholar, stated that Mehmet Görmez took attention with his activities since the establishment of the Presidency of the Diyanet, and has served the Islamic community and has been trying to enlighten the society with the Islamic religion.
“Mehmet Görmez himself is a madrasa-based scholar,” said Şenlik and added: “Especially from madrasahs in Kurdistan. He is trained in the knees of the Kurdish scholars. Mehmet Görmez's point of view on Islamic religion is a viewpoint of Ummah. He is not racist, nationalist ruling, like previous Diyanet Presidents.”
Şenlik also stated that withdrawal of Görmez is a loss, said, “Mehmet Görmez steps aside in order not to experience the previous problems. This is a loss for us. It is an opportunity for us to find a wise man in the Presidency of Diyanet.”
“I wish they protest Görmez”
Abdulkuddus Yalçın, a member of the Board of Directors of Union of Scholars, said that Görmez was performing his duty properly.
Yalçın pointed out that Görmez is doing positive works at the point of service to Islam, said “Mehmet Görmez is the best Director of Religious Affairs I personally know, who wants to serve Islam and who really wants to perform his duty properly. So we find him very positively when we look at from the point view of Islam. We find his works to be really good in terms of serving Islam and we love him for God's sake.”
Yalçın said, “He was a person that encouraging all the muftis, and all the imams to teach the Qur'an, to organize Islamic conversations in the mosques. Inviting the Islamic world to the union, advised that Muslims should defend themselves, their religion, their faithfulness in a proper way was just a few good studies of him.”
Yalçın stated that Görmez had organized and encouraged Holy Birth programs to place the love of Prophet [PBUH] in people's hearts.
Yalçın said, “Prior to the celebration of the Holy Births, the activities were celebrating very weak, narrow places or just were some announcements were hung on the gates of the mosques. But after this person after came on duty, he encouraged the Holy Birth activities in the wider areas, in stadiums. He has struggled to place the love of Prophet in people’s heart. We appreciate the services that this person wants to do in Islam. We certainly do not agree to take such a person out of this position.” (Abdurrahman Tetik, Emrah Deniz - ILKHA)
