Prophet’s Lovers Foundation organized a significant rally in Diyarbakır to commemorate the 99th anniversary of Sheikh Said Hazrat's execution by Türkiye’s Independence Tribunal on June 28, 1925.

The event also provided a platform to address the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the impact of international support for Israeli occupation regime.

The gathering was held at Yenihal Bridge Junction in Diyarbakır’s central Kayapınar district. Participants emphasized the importance of remembering historical sacrifices while drawing parallels to contemporary struggles faced by Muslims worldwide.

Ömer Çelik, President of the Martyrs Caravan Platform, delivered a compelling speech focusing on both historical and current atrocities committed by Western powers. Çelik criticized the hypocritical attitudes of local collaborators and underscored the massacres and atrocities committed by the West against Islamic countries, both historically and in the present day.

He began by recalling the martyrdom of Sheikh Said, who was executed by the Independence Tribunals in 1925. Çelik highlighted that Sheikh Said and his companions were not mere insurgents but were driven by a profound sense of religious duty to oppose the secular policies imposed by the Turkish state at the time.

Çelik emphasized that Sheikh Said and his companions were martyrs, guides, and leaders in the hearts of Muslims. They fought against the occupation and oppression imposed by Western powers and their local allies. Çelik stressed that these scholars and leaders were not traitors but were dedicated to preserving Islamic values and principles.

"They are not British agents or traitors, but Islamic scholars who enlighten our way," Çelik declared, urging the audience to continue recognizing and honoring their sacrifices.

Çelik accused Western powers of masking their imperialistic and oppressive actions under the guise of promoting democracy. He cited historical examples, such as the brutal colonialism in Asia, Africa, and other Islamic countries. He highlighted the ongoing support for Israeli actions in Gaza, describing it as a continuation of Western hypocrisy and brutality.

In his speech, Çelik also addressed recent protests in Diyarbakır and drew comparisons to the violent events of 6-8 October. He criticized those who condemned faith-driven protests against Western corporations while remaining silent on the atrocities committed by Israel and its supporters.

"Local Jews and Zionists here use the same propaganda language as Israel," Çelik stated, emphasizing that the protesters are motivated by a deep sense of faith and justice. He condemned those who accused the protesters of being violent or extremist, asserting that they are defending their religious and moral rights.

Concluding his speech, Çelik called for solidarity and action in support of Palestinians. He urged people not to remain silent or inactive while witnessing the ongoing violence and displacement in Gaza. Çelik called on the international community, particularly Muslims, to stand together against the injustices perpetrated by Israel and its allies.

He stressed that the struggle initiated by groups like Hamas has awakened a sense of justice and humanity among people worldwide. "This struggle initiated by Hamas has awakened all peoples who have not lost their humanity and conscience, except those who are servants of Israel," Çelik said.

He praised Hamas for exposing the true nature of Western powers and their local collaborators, urging continued resistance and solidarity.

The rally in Diyarbakır served as a poignant reminder of historical sacrifices and a call to action against ongoing injustices, reflecting the enduring spirit of resistance and solidarity among Muslims.
