Türkiye has granted visa exemption to holders of Syrian diplomatic passports traveling to the country, according to a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette.

The decree, signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, allows Syrian diplomatic passport holders to enter Türkiye without a visa for official assignments, tourist visits of up to 90 days within any 180-day period, and transit travel.

The decision applies specifically to citizens of the Syrian Arab Republic holding diplomatic passports and was adopted under Article 18 of Türkiye's Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection.

The move marks another step in the normalization of official relations between Ankara and Damascus, following recent diplomatic contacts and cooperation initiatives between the two neighboring countries.(ILKHA)
