Ford investigates X account breach after unauthorized messages

Ford Motor Company announced on Monday that its official X account was hacked, resulting in the publication of unauthorized posts with pro-Palestinian messages.
In a statement issued on the platform, Ford said: “Our X account was briefly compromised and three posts were made that were not authorized or posted by Ford. They do not represent the views of Ford Motor Company. Ford and X are investigating this breach.”
The posts included phrases such as “Free Palestine,” “Israel is a terrorist state,” and “ALL EYES ON GAZA,” drawing attention to the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip. Israel’s military operations in Gaza have resulted in significant casualties, with reports indicating more than 45,500 deaths since the Hamas cross-border attack on October 7, 2023.
The unauthorized messages were widely circulated on social media before they were removed. Ford has assured the public that it is working with X to identify the source of the breach and prevent future incidents.
Further details regarding the investigation or potential security vulnerabilities were not disclosed at the time of reporting. (ILKHA)
