Israeli occupation forces launched a fresh wave of air and artillery strikes across southern Lebanon, targeting towns, residential areas and their outskirts, in what Lebanese sources described as a continued violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and the existing ceasefire arrangements.

Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes on residential areas in Arabsalim, in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh district, before launching another strike against Nabatieh al-Fawqa, according to local sources.

The renewed attacks have heightened concerns among residents of southern Lebanon, where communities have repeatedly come under Israeli bombardment and military pressure despite calls for an end to violations and respect for Lebanese territorial sovereignty.

Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli artillery shelled al-Mansouri, while Israeli forces also dropped explosive and incendiary materials on the outskirts of the town.

An Israeli drone separately dropped a sound bomb near Dohet Kfar Rumman, adding to the growing atmosphere of fear among residents.

Israeli artillery also targeted the outskirts of Mays al-Jabal, accompanied by a sweeping operation involving machine-gun fire.

The outskirts of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah in the Nabatieh district were also subjected to artillery fire, according to local reports.

Israeli forces further conducted an extensive sweeping operation toward the outskirts of Haris, in the direction of Haddatha, with homes and their residents reportedly coming under fire.

The attacks began before dawn, when Israeli warplanes struck al-Mansouri in the Tyre district, hitting several buildings in the town.

The explosions were heard in Tyre and nearby villages, while the force of the strikes shattered windows in homes in surrounding communities, according to local reports.

Residents were once again forced to confront the effects of heavy bombardment in areas that have already suffered extensive destruction and displacement.

At approximately 6 a.m., Israeli aircraft launched two waves of strikes against the Ali al-Taher heights, east of Nabatieh al-Fawqa.

Several missiles were fired during the attacks, producing powerful explosions that reverberated throughout the surrounding area.

Israeli warplanes had also carried out a nighttime strike on the area between Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Mayfadoun, further expanding the area affected by the bombardment.

The latest attacks come amid continued Israeli military activity in southern Lebanon, where Lebanese communities have repeatedly reported airstrikes, artillery fire, drone activity and ground operations.

For residents, the repeated attacks represent not only a security threat but also a direct challenge to Lebanon’s sovereignty and the ability of civilians to return to and rebuild their communities.

The bombardment has also raised renewed concerns over the durability of arrangements intended to prevent a further escalation along the Lebanon-Israel frontier.

Lebanese authorities and local communities have repeatedly called for an end to Israeli violations and for international guarantees to protect civilians and preserve Lebanon’s territorial integrity.

With Israeli aircraft and artillery continuing to operate over parts of southern Lebanon, fears remain that the sustained military pressure could further destabilize the region and undermine efforts to restore security and normal life to communities already devastated by conflict. (ILKHA)
