Israeli occupation forces launch wave of raids across West Bank

Israeli occupation forces carried out a wave of raids across several areas of the occupied West Bank overnight and early Monday, detaining a number of Palestinians and assaulting residents during searches of homes and refugee camps, according to local sources.
The raids affected communities in Nablus, Jenin, Jericho, Jerusalem and Ramallah, as Israeli forces continued their routine military operations across the occupied territory.
In Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, Israeli forces raided a café and detained a Palestinian citizen. Another Palestinian was detained in Nablus city during separate operations.
In the Jenin governorate, Israeli troops stormed several homes in the town of Meithalun and carried out searches. No arrests were immediately reported from the town.
Israeli forces also entered Aqabat Jabr refugee camp in Jericho, where confrontations erupted between soldiers and local Palestinian youths. The clashes came as Israeli forces intensified their presence in the area.
In the northern Jerusalem area, Israeli police detained two young Palestinians from Qalandia refugee camp. Another young man was detained after Israeli forces reportedly chased him in an area between Qalandia and the nearby town of al-Ram.
Meanwhile, in the Ramallah area, Israeli forces raided the village of al-Mughayir, northeast of the city. Local sources said soldiers assaulted residents during the operation and searched homes, reportedly taking money and gold from Palestinian families.
The Israeli forces also conducted raids and searches in several other parts of the occupied West Bank, although no arrests were reported in those areas.
Palestinians and rights groups have repeatedly condemned Israeli military raids in the West Bank, saying that home invasions, arrests and physical assaults have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among civilians. Refugee camps and Palestinian towns have been frequent targets of Israeli operations, with residents often reporting damage to property and disruption to daily life.
The latest raids come amid continuing Israeli military operations across the occupied West Bank and growing international concern over the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation facing Palestinians. (ILKHA)
