Several agreements aimed at strengthening the legal framework of bilateral relations are expected to be signed during the visit, reflecting both countries' commitment to expanding long-term cooperation.
Defense, energy and trade expected to feature prominently
The summit is also expected to focus on cooperation in the defense industry, energy, investment, advanced technologies, and nuclear power, building on the strategic partnership established between the two countries in 2012. Officials are also expected to discuss increasing bilateral trade and promoting joint industrial projects.
Ahead of the visit, President Erdogan said South Korea could become an important partner in Türkiye's planned Sinop Nuclear Power Plant project, while emphasizing broader opportunities for cooperation in high technology, manufacturing and defense industries.
The visit marks President Erdogan's first trip to South Korea since 2018 and is expected to provide fresh momentum to bilateral relations as the two countries prepare to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2027.(ILKHA)
