Türkiye's total business turnover reaches TRY 124.8 trillion in 2025
Türkiye's total business turnover reached 124.8 trillion Turkish lira (TRY) in 2025, while the number of active enterprises exceeded 4 million, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said in a statement on Thursday.
TurkStat said there were 4,016,059 active enterprises operating across the country in 2025, employing a total of 20,122,817 people. The services sector accounted for the largest share of enterprises and employment, while the trade sector generated the highest turnover.
Trade sector leads turnover
The trade sector accounted for 46.8% of Türkiye's total business turnover, followed by industry with 28.5% and services with 17.8%.
Total production value reached TRY 71.35 trillion, while value added at factor cost amounted to TRY 22.2 trillion. Total purchases of goods and services stood at TRY 108.5 trillion.
Manufacturing records highest production value
Manufacturing generated the highest production value among all sectors at TRY 27.9 trillion.
It was followed by:
Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply recorded a production value of TRY 4.42 trillion.
Large companies account for one-third of turnover
Enterprises employing 250 or more people generated 34.3% of total turnover, making them the largest contributor.
Businesses with 1–9 employees accounted for 25.8% of turnover, while firms with 50–249 employees represented 20.1%, and those with 10–49 employees contributed 19.8%.
In terms of employment, micro-enterprises with 1–9 workers employed the largest share of the workforce at 36.4%.
Low-technology manufacturing remains dominant
Within the manufacturing sector, 54.4% of enterprises operated in low-technology industries.
These businesses accounted for 47.9% of manufacturing employment and 35.8% of manufacturing turnover, highlighting the continued dominance of lower-technology production across Türkiye's industrial base.(ILKHA)
