Turkish Foreign Ministry slams Netanyahu as 'Hitler of our time,' accuses him of undermining peace
The Turkish Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing him as a figure responsible for serious crimes and accusing him of attempting to derail regional peace efforts to avoid legal consequences.
In a press release issued on Saturday, the Ministry stated that Netanyahu “has been described as the Hitler of our time due to the crimes he has committed” and highlighted his well-documented track record. The statement emphasized that an arrest warrant has been issued against Netanyahu by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes and crimes against humanity. It also noted that Israel, under Netanyahu’s leadership, is facing genocide charges at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
“Netanyahu’s current objective is to undermine ongoing peace negotiations and continue his expansionist policies in the region. Failing this, he risks being tried in his own country and is likely to be sentenced to imprisonment,” the Ministry said.
The statement further addressed recent criticism directed at Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by Israeli officials, dismissing the allegations as “baseless, brazen, and false.” It attributed the attacks to the discomfort caused by Türkiye’s consistent criticism of Israeli policies.
"The fact that our President has been targeted by Israeli officials with baseless, brazen, and false allegations is a result of the discomfort caused by the truths we have consistently voiced on every platform,” the Ministry declared.
The press release concluded by reaffirming Türkiye’s position: “Türki̇ye will continue to stand by innocent civilians and will further its efforts to ensure that Netanyahu is held accountable for the crimes he has committed."
The sharp remarks come amid heightened tensions between Türkiye and Israel, with Ankara repeatedly criticizing Israel’s genocidal operations in Gaza and broader regional policies. The Turkish government has positioned itself as a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause on international platforms. This latest statement reflects Türkiye’s ongoing diplomatic stance against Netanyahu’s government while defending its own leadership from reciprocal accusations. (ILKHA)
